10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2025-Notification Issued by Punjab Govt.

Punjab Government has issued the notification on July 10,2025 in connection with “Grant of 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2025 in current running basic pay. After the issuing of notification, all employees from BS-01 to BS-22 working under the Punjab Government thank the Punjab Government by helping them financially in amid rising inflation and economic challenges.

Key Highlights of the Notification

According to the circular issued by Mr. Khalid Mahmood, Additional Finance Secretary (Regulations), the Adhoc Relief Allowance-2025 will be applicable from 1st July 2025 and will remain in effect until further orders. The allowance will be granted to:

Terms and Conditions for Adhoc Relief Allowance 2025

The notification outlines the following key conditions regarding the disbursement and regulation of the allowance:

  1. Taxable Amount:
    The Adhoc Relief Allowance will be subject to income tax as per government rules.

  2. Leave Periods:
    It will be admissible during leave, including LPR (Leave Preparatory to Retirement), except during extraordinary leave without pay.

  3. Not Part of Pension or Gratuity:
    The allowance will not be considered as part of emoluments for the calculation of pension, gratuity, or recovery of House Rent.

  4. Not Admissible on Deputation:
    The allowance will not be admissible to civil servants who are on posting/deputation abroad.

  5. Repatriation Provisions:
    If a civil servant is repatriated from posting/deputation abroad, they will receive this allowance equal to what they would have received had they not been posted abroad.

Definition of “Basic Pay”

For the purpose of calculating the Adhoc Relief Allowance, the term “Basic Pay” includes:

  • The amount of the personal pay granted based on annual increments.

  • It is capped at the maximum of the existing pay scale.

Budget Allocation

The Finance Department has made it clear that the allowance will be covered under the existing budgetary allocation for the Financial Year 2025-2026. No supplementary grant will be issued for this purpose. Each department is responsible for accommodating this allowance within their own financial limits.

This announcement has been welcomed by thousands of civil servants across the province, particularly in the context of current economic conditions. With inflation putting pressure on household budgets, a 10% increase in basic pay is seen as a timely and much-needed step.
