All schools will remain closed till Sunday due to pink eye infection
In the wake of the spread of Conjunctivitis / Pink Eye Infection among school kids, the School Education Department Punjab has decided to shut all public and private schools from Thursday 28-09-2023 till Sunday 01-10-2023. All schools shall reopen from Monday 02-10-2023 and shall observe the SOPS issued by this Department (copy enclosed) to curb the spread of Conjunctivitis / Pink Eye Infection.
This conjunctivitis/pink eye infection has spread all over Punjab and even in schools this infection gripped children especially small children of primary school. The majority of the students were absent from school and some children were sent back by the teachers so that other students would not be affected by it. The situation was getting worse day by day due to which students’ study was also affected. It is a very good decision of the Punjab Government to close the schools for four days.
Today Mohsin Naqvi caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab visited the schools of Ravi Road Lahore. Many children were suffering from this infection. On this basis, the SED Punjab notified to close all public and private schools till Sunday. All Chief Executive Officers are directed to ensure compliance of the orders.
