Date Of Birth Of Civil Servants
The Government Of Punjab Finance Department has issued a letter to all the Senior Members, the Board Of Reveue, The Chairmen Planning and Development Board, and all Administrative Secretaries in connection with the “Date of Birth Of Civil Servants”.
In this letter, the finance department has said that it has been noted that Administrative Departments frequently accept Date of Birth recorded in CNICs instead of Date of Birth recorded at the time of joining government service when forwarding cases for the formation of post of OSD to the Finance Department.
“The date of birth once recorded at the time of joining government service shall be final and there-after no alteration in the date of birth of a civil servant shall be permissible”,
The finance department draws the attention of all competent authority towards Rule 21.A(3) of Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Condition of Services) Rules, 1974, as added vide notification No.SOR.M-1-14/75 dated 15.11.2000 and Note-2 below Rule 7.3 of Punjab Financial Rules, Volume-1, as amended vide Notification No.FD(FR)11-7/87 dated 25.11.2010,
The Education Department vide No.SO (SE-III)5-161/2019 dated 20.05.2019 issued a letter to all Chief Executive Officers (DEAS) in Punjab, directing that the date of birth of government servants be considered as mentioned on CNIC issued by NADRA, as authenticated evidence for rectification of any variation in the date of birth instead of school leaving certificate or Secondary School Certificate.
The above-said letter is completely contradicted with the Rule 7.3 of PFR Vol-1
