Disbursement Of Stipend Of School Teacher Interns(STIs) SED Punjab

School Education Department Punjab had launched School Teachers Interns (STIs) program in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, Mianwali and Rajanpur to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in public schools for the period of 9 months on the pattern of Higher Education Department. 

These STIs started their job in the new academic session in August 2021. Approximately 5 months passed but they are still deprived of their stipend. These STIs lodged complaints on different portals like Citizen Portal for the issuance of early stipend. 

School Education Department took notice of these complaints and issued a notification dated 8th December 2021 in connection with “Disbursement Of Stipend Of School Teacher Interns(STIs)” and issued directions to the Chief Executive Officers District Education Authorities Gujranwala, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, Mianwali and Rajanpur that a number of complaints are being received by the hired STIs that they have not been paid stipend till yet. As these STIs were hired against the sanctioned posts, therefore budgetary needs will be met out of the allocated budget through DDOs.

It is therefore, directed to ensure the release of stipend of STIs at the earliest.
