Eid Ul Fitr is a religious festival of the muslims that is celebrated on 1st day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar in all over the world. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. On this auspicious day, the muslims gather for special prayers, exchange gifts and greetings with one another, and enjoy festive meals with family and friends.
The needy people are also taken care of on this festival and they are financially assisted in various ways, such as giving them FITRANA so that they too can join in the joy of Eid. Overall, Eid Ul Fitr is a time of joy and gratitude for the blessings received during the holy month of Ramadan and a time to strengthen bonds of friendship, family, and community.
Government employees also celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm and look forward to the holidays to celebrate this festival with their family and friends because they want to spend more time with their children, family and friends, some even plan to go on long trips. Their happiness doubles when the government gives them more holidays to celebrate this religious festival.
The good news for government employees is that the Government of Pakistan Cabinet Division has announced 5 holidays for Eid Ul Fitr for government employees. The notification was issued last night on 13th April 2023. The below lines are taken from the notification
“In continuation of Cabinet Division’s Circular No.10-02/2022-Min-II dated 23rd December 2022 regarding Public and Optional holidays for the year 2023, it is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to declare 21st to 25th April 2023 (Friday to Tuesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eld-ul-Fitr. The above Press Release may be published in all major English and Urdu Dailies at the National and Regional levels and given wide publicity through electronic media.
The notification is sent to all the competent authorities for general information.
