Field Operation of 7th Census has been rescheduled
A letter has been written to all Chief Executive Officers from the Ministry of Planning, Development and Specialist Initiatives, Pakistan Bureaue Of Statistics about the delay of 7th Population & Housing Census (Digital Census).
The Council of Common Interest (CCI) gave its approval to conduct the 7th Population and Housing Census digitally during its 49th meeting on January 13, 2022. Pakistan Bureau of Statistics PBS started the census activities as per its plan to provide the training for the 7th Population and Housing Census in three phases
The training of Master Trainers and Training of Trainers(TOTs) was successfully concluded on 15th December and 23rd December 2022 respectively. The Trianing of Enumerators has been imparted during 7th to 21st January, 2023 in three batches at division level . The training of master trainers was conducted at Islamabad.
The census field operation was previously scheduled to take place from 1st February 2023 to 4th March 2023. However, due to unavoidable circumstances and in light of ground realities, the field operation of the census has been rescheduled and now will start from 1st march 2023 to 1st April 2023.
This decision has been made in the 5th Progress Review Meeting of the Census Monitoring Committee (CMC), constituted by the Council of Common Interest (CCI) (which includes representation from all the provinces and stakeholders) held on 17th January 2023 under the Chairmanship of Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and all the members of the Committee including Chief Secretaries, Secretaries of relevant departments and Director General, Military Operations Directorate were present in the meeting.
All the CEOs are requested to kindly proceed accordingly and arrange/ schedule all the requisite activities as per the said census rollover date, i.e. from 1st March to 1st April, 2023.
