The interested candidates will apply online by visiting the Pakistan Army’s Official website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk from September 15, 2025. All candidates must register themselves through the internet or by visiting the nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centers ( ASRC) located in different districts of the country because it is a mandatory process.

Nationality and Gender Requirements

• Only male candidates are eligible.

• Must be a citizen of Pakistan or a domicile holder of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan.

• Dual nationality holders must surrender their other nationality upon final selection.

PMA Long Course Age Limit & Education Criteria

The PMA long course age limit and educational requirements vary depending on qualifications:

Required Marks in Education

• Minimum 60% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent.

• Candidates with 60% in BA/BSc/BBA/BPA but 50% marks in FA/FSc are also eligible.

• For candidates from specified areas like Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, and some districts of Sindh and Punjab, the requirement is 55% marks in FA/FSc.

• Serving Army Soldiers require 50% marks in FA/FSc or equivalent.

PMA 157 Long Course Selection Procedure

The selection process for PMA 157 Long Course includes several stages:

1. Written and Intelligence Tests

• Subjects: English, Mathematics, Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, and General Knowledge.

• The written test is based on multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

• Successful candidates will undergo intelligence tests.

2. Medical Examination

Shortlisted candidates will be medically examined at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).

3. Physical Tests

Candidates must meet the following physical standards:

• 1.6 Km run in 8 minutes

• 15 pushups in 2 minutes

• 20 sit-ups in 2 minutes

• 3 chin-ups in 2 minutes

• Ditch crossing 7’4” x 7’4” with 4’ deep

4. Preliminary Interview

Conducted by Selection and Recruitment Officers (S&RO).

5. Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB)

• Shortlisted candidates appear before ISSB for psychological tests, group discussions, outdoor tasks, and final interviews.

• Successful candidates undergo a detailed medical exam at CMH.

Training Period

• Selected candidates will undergo 2 years of rigorous military training at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul.
