USAID-funded Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program For Females

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the collaboration of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is offering the USAID-funded Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program to talented female students who belong to low-income families but cannot apply for admission in top Pakistani universities to get higher education due to financial problems.

These female students are encouraged to enroll in professional entry test preparation workshops. Preference will be given to those female students who belong to less developed districts of Pakistan particularly rural areas.

The main purpose of USAID-funded Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program is to identify bright female students with exceptional Matriculation and FA/FSC results ahead of time, investing in them by offering entry test preparation workshops for their admission in medical, engineering and general universities of Pakistan. The last date for submitting of applications is not announced but HEC will soon open the application portal for online submission of applications.

HEC Scrutiny Committee will check the application form to determine eligibility of the applicant. A merit list will be prepared based on academic records and needs-based criteria defined under the program. Offer letters will be issued to top candidates depending upon the available slots.

Eligibility Criteria For USAID-funded Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program

1. Only female candidates from all over Pakistan & Azad Kashmir can apply.
2. Female candidates belong to a low-income family
3. Must have secured 80% or above in Intermediate (1st year) in Engineering/Medical/Computer Sciences Group
4. 70% or above in Intermediate (1st year) in Social/General Science/Art & Humanities Group
5. Students with different abilities
