Winter Vacation 2022 In Punjab Announced

Smog is an air pollutant that typically results from burning coal or wood, vehicle fumes, fossil fuels, brick-kiln fuel and several other factors. Smog descends in November and December in Lahore and its surrounding areas for the past few years and creates health issues among the people, particularly the students who depart to schools, colleges and universities early in the morning. 

Once upon a time when Lahore is called a city of gardens, now considered one of the most polluted cities not only in Asia but also in the world due to terrible air pollution caused by vehicles, factories and the burning of waste by the farmers. 

A few days ago, Lahore High Court while hearing a public interest petition hinted at the closure of schools for 3 days(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) in a week in to the intense situation of smog in the province. The honorable judge said that the smog had been increasing but the provincial government seemed non-serious to restrain it

While addressing the tablet distribution ceremony among the Insaf Afternoon Schools’ teachers in Lahore, provincial minister of education Dr.Murad Raas denied closing for 3 days schools due to the ongoing December Test. He hinted that we may go for early winter vacations but cannot close schools for three days.D

Due to the deteriorating Air Quality Index and Smog school education department has directed to all competent authorities to communicate all heads of public and private schools that students, teachers and other school staff must wear face mask, drinking plenty of water, use glasses, reduce outdoor activities and take other measures inside the school during school hours.

The Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Karim yesterday ordered the Punjab government to submit the notification of holidays in schools for three days in a week tomorrow(7 Dec 22) in any case. All public and private schools in district Lahore will remain closed on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in addition to weekly holidays till further notification issued 

Winter Vacation Schedule In All Private and Public Schools

School Education Department Punjab has issued a notification in connection with “Winter Vacation” for all public and private schools. As per notification, all public and private school in the province shall remain closed w.e.f  24.12.2022 to 31.12.2022. All Schools (Public and Private) shall re-open on Monday, 2nd January 2023 resuming a full/normal week for all classes. However, the restrictions regarding the wearing of Face Masks within school premises shall remain intact.

 نوٹیفیکیشن کے مطابق موسم سرما کی تعطیلات کا آغاز 24 دسمبر  2022بروز ہفتہ سے ہو گا اور یہ 31 دسمبر 2022 بروز ہفتہ تک جاری رہیں گی۔

 یکم جنوری 2023 کو کیونکہ اتوار ہے اس لیے تمام سکول 2 جنوری  2023 بروز سوموار کو دوبارہ کھولیں گے۔
