School Education Department Punjab, has issued the following letter to the Directorate Of Public Instruction (DPI) and all the Chief Executive Officers (DEAs)in Punjab dated 28-01-2023 in connection with “Extension of Contract Of Educators (SSEs/AEOs) Recruited in 2014 and 2018”.
“In continuation of this Department’s letter of even number dated 10.03.2022, I am further directed to inform you that the regularization process of Educators (SSES/AEOs) is under process in the department and till the completion of the regularization process their contract may be extended under the provisions of their letters of Agreement after observing all codal formalities. Furthermore, Educators whose regularization is not covered the Act ibid and their contract period is to be expired, may also be granted an extension in contract subject to fulfillment of criteria and good performance under the provisions of letters of agreement after observing all codal formalities”.
ؒLast month, the Punjab government promised to make these Educators/AEOs permanent and a committee was also formed in this regard, but due to the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly, this promise could not be fulfilled. These Educators/AEOs are constantly suffering from mental anguish and anxiety and have been trying to become regular for a long time. These Educators/AEOs also staged a sit-in for 5 consecutive days in front of the Punjab Assembly to demand regularity in the severe cold. Inshallah, the time is not far away when these respectable SSEs/AEOs will be permanent.
