Reimbursement Of Conveyance Allowance To All Teaching Staff
School Education Department Punjab has written a letter to all the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in Punjab that the department has never asked to stop/deduct the payment of the ‘Conveyance Allowance’ of its employees during the summer and winter vacation in the light of judgment passed by the honorable Supreme Court Of Pakistan dated on 7th July 2022.
School Education Department Punjab has received an application from the president of the Punjab Teacher Union Murree regarding the deduction of Conveyance Allowance during the summer vacation 2023 which is against the law and judgment of the Supreme Court Of Pakistan.
SED ensured in the letter that if the conveyance allowance is deducted during the vacation, reimburse it as soon as possible. As per law and rules, the employees of the Education Department remain on call for any duty assigned to them during the vacations. They are not granted summer/winter vacations on demand, so they are entitled for payment of conveyance allowance during the vacations۔
As you know, during the recent holidays, the Conveyance Allowance of all the teaching staff of the school education department was deducted. Anti-dengue focal persons are also deprived of this allowance. They protested several times and made requests to the concerned authorities not to deduct their allowance because they had been coming to school to perform this task.
It is pertinent to mention that the CEOs of different districts also issued notifications regarding giving Convenience Allowance to Anti-Dengue Focal Persons. However, still it was deducted from their salary.
Hopefully, now the conveyance allowance will be reimbursed to all the employees after the issuance of this letter.
