Student Loan Scheme 2022 For Undergraduate To Ph.D Students
Applications are invited for the Student Loan Scheme 2022 for the students who are studying undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D in the approved subjects i.e Engineering, Electronics, Oil Gas & Petro-Chemical Technology, Agriculture, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Mathematics, Other Natural Sciences, DAWA and Islamic Jurisprudence (LL.B/LL.M Sharia), Computer Science/Information System and Technology including hardware, Economics, Statistics and Econometrics, Business Management Sciences and Commerce under the academic year 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 in public sector institutions.
The Student Loan Scheme(SLS) is being launched by the Federal Government of Pakistan in collaboration with 5 major commercial banks i.e NBP, HBL, UBL, MCB and ABL. Today(29 May 2022) an advertisement for student loan scheme is published in Nawai-e-Waqt newspaper. The last date for the submission of applications is July 29, 2022. The main objective of the SLS is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who have financial difficulties for pursuing their studies in Scientific, Technical and Professional education within Pakistan. This scheme is totally interest-free (سود سے پاک)۔
Eligibility Criteria For Student Loan Scheme 2022
The male and female candidates who have secured a minimum 70% marks in the last public examination and they are unable to pursue their studies due to financial constraints are eligible to apply for Student Loan Scheme 2022. Moreover, He/She has obtained admission on merit through normal course/procedure in the approved Universities/Colleges of the public sector. He/She falls at the time of admission within the age bracket of:-
- For Graduation Not exceeding 21 Years
- For Post-Graduation Not exceeding 31 Years
- For Ph.D Not exceeding 36 Years
How To Repayment For Student Loan Scheme 2022
The maximum period of repayment of the loan is 10-Years from the date of disbursement of the first installment. The borrower shall repay the loan in monthly installments after six months from the date of first employment or one year from the date of completion of studies.
How To Apply For Student Loan Scheme 2022
(1)The students desirous of availing loan under the Scheme may apply on
the prescribed form which can be downloaded from the National Bank of Pakistan website www.nbp.com.pk/studentloan or from the below link
(2)Application Forms are also available from the designated branches of NBP, HBL, UBL, MCB and ABL.
(3)Students are advised to submit (2) two sets of Student Loan Applications
Form.
(4)The students are requested to submit/send their applications on the prescribed
form, duly completed in all respect, to the designated branches(Download List), indicated against each University/College till Jule 29, 2022.
