HEC has announced Law Graduate Assessment Test(LAW GAT)2020

For eligibility to seek enrolment as an advocate with Bar Council.

Law Graduate Assessment Test 2020: Higher Education Commission has announced details regarding the Law GAT Test registration schedule today(7 June 2020)In Jang Newspaper. All interested candidates are required to register according to the given registration process of the Law GAT Test 2020. Any individual who wants to enroll as an Advocate with Bar Council has to pass the test. Higher Education Commission conducts law test three times in a year according to its standards and merit for Law students and announces law gat result.


 The main purpose of this test is to ensure that every law graduate who wants to practice law as a profession is properly examined according to his ability to enter in this field with basic knowledge. Only qualified professionals are given the chance to practice Law as their legal professional.


Eligibility Criteria

Persons having passed Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent from a university recognized by HEC/PBC are eligible to apply


Test Type

The test will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Date of Test

  • The test date will be communicated through  //etc.hec.gov.pk/
  • Applicants who register through HEC online registration process will download their Roll Number Slip through //etc.hec.gov.pk/ a week before the test date
  • Email/SMS will be sent to registered applicants for test date, time and value. Candidates are required to provide valid email’mobile number while filling online application form
  • A print of Roll Number slip and original CNIC will be required to enter in Test Centre

In case of any difficulty during online registration, please send email at [email protected] visit HEC Secretariat or HEC Regional Centres for guidance

Application submission comprises of two steps profile completion using My Profile section and application submission using “Law Graduate Assessment Test:”link in menu panel hand sidebar of online portal

Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for LAW GAT Test and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.

Test fee of Rs. 3000-Is to be deposited online/ATM in the Account No.01127900567403, Account Title: Higher Education Commission Bank Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code 0112. Bank Draft/pay order will not be accepted.

Applicants are required to submit original fee deposit slip/ATM Online transfer through courier at Room No 13-207 2nd floor, HRD Building, HEC, H-8, Islamabad on or before the last date of registration

Please mention your CNC number at the backside of the deposit slip

The examination fee is non-refundable and non-transferable

Last Date for Online Registration is Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
