On January 6, 2023, Minister Of Education Dr.Murad Raas categorically denied extending winter vacation due to the upcoming annual exams in the schools. He expressed his views on his Twitter account. He tweeted that why do parents, teachers, and students want more vacations? We also used to go to school in the same weather condition and we didn’t complain. No one is ready to give time to studies.
Why are parents/teachers/students wanting more winter holidays. We used to go to school in the same weather and never complained. What is wrong with this generation – no one wants to do anything! Specially study.

Even after Murad Raas’s tweet, various rumors were being circulated on social media from some sources that there is a possibility of further extension of Winter Vacation 2023 In Punjab and it was being said that the education minister of Punjab has called an emergency meeting on 8th January 2023 (today) at 10 o’clock due to the extreme cold weather. The Minister of Education will hold a press conference after the meeting and inform all his decisions regarding the extension of winter vacation.
Earlier it was also reported that parents are demanding one more week of holidays in schools after the increase in the severity of winter in Punjab. It will be very difficult for the parents to prepare their kids’ breakfast due to such extreme cold weather and load shedding of electricity and gas
Now TMS has confirmed from its reliable source and tweeted that all public and private schools in the Punjab province are going to reopen after the winter break on 9th January 2023.

On the other hand, Deputy Secretary Schools Punjab Chaudhary Naveed says that the news of further extension in winter vacations is not true. Winter vacations will not be extended.
