PEC has announced 1st Term Assessment Schedule 2023

As a public school teacher, you know very well that the Punjab Education Commission (PEC) has already introduced the Assessment Policy Framework (APF) 2019. This policy demands the implementation of SBA at three terminal levels in an academic year and if the academic year starts in the month of April, students from grade 3 to grade 8 will be assessed in the month of September, December and March as 1st term assessment, mid-term assessment and end of academic year assessment respectively.

Now PEC is going to conduct 1st term assessment. The following schedule is notified by the PEC in order to conduct First Term School Based Assessment (SBA) for grades 3 to 8 by the District Education Authorities.

1 Item Bank will be uploaded for 1st term assessment 14th September 2023
2 Schools will generate the papers through IBS Upto 17th September 2023
3 Conduct of SBA/Marking and prepare the report cards 18th September to 28th September 2023
4 Report Cards will be distributed among the students 30th September 2023

Important Points

1st Term Assessment date sheet will be issued by the Head Teacher of the school.

All the question papers except English and Urdu will be provided bilingually and schools are given provision to generate other subject papers either in English/Urdu or bilingually.

Every school will generate question papers by logging into the Item Bank System (IBS) with QR code showing complete information of the school with EMIS code (which can be scanned through any QR Code Scanning App).

The system-generated paper for each subject will be of one page with QR code.

Marking will be done as per standardized keys and rubrics generated with the papers in IBS.

The CEO-DEAs are requested to take necessary measures to ensure that schools utilize IBS with their own login. This will also be checked during the conduct of the First Term by monitoring teams.
